Another favorite at every Puerto Rican celebration is the Tacada. From school events and university gatherings to baby showers and baptisms, you’ll find it everywhere! A good Sándwich de Mezcla and a fresh Tacada are the two things that simply cannot be missing from a true Boricua party.

Ingredient:

  • Ingredients:
  • 1 bar of cream cheese
  • ½ lb of ground beef
  • 1 head of lettuce
  • 1 tomato, diced, shredded
  • Shredded cheese
  • sofrito and garlic
  • Potato chip (tostitos scoops, my preference)

Methods:

  • In a pan, sauté the ground beef with sofrito and garlic until fully browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Place the softened cream cheese at the bottom of a serving bowl or glass dish. Spread it evenly until it covers the entire base.
  • Pour the mild sauce over the cream cheese, followed by the cooked ground beef.
  • Add a layer of shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes.
  • Top generously with shredded cheese.
  • Enjoy with Tostitos Scoops or your favorite potato chips!
