Limonada Juice

This drink was popular in the 90s. It was always in the summer, on a few streets, in front of someone’s house, there was a «Limonada» stand, and it was always kids (probably a brother and a sister). It was $0.50 to $1.25 teaching kids how to sell and save.

This refreshing Limonada is also my mother’s absolute favorite! Every time the summer heat kicks in, this is the first drink she asks for. It’s a simple classic that never goes out of style

Ingredients:

  • 1 gal of water
  • 10 to 20 lemons
  • 1 cup of sugar ( or more to taste)

Methods:

  • Take your lemons and squeeze them by hand (the classic 90s way!) or use a lemon squeezer. Collect all the fresh juice in a large pitcher.
  • Slowly pour water into the pitcher with the lemon juice. If you taste it now, it will be very sour, that’s okay!
  • Add sugar to the pitcher and stir until completely dissolved.
  • Taste your lemonade. If it’s too strong, add a little more water. If it’s too sour, add a bit more sugar. Keep adjusting until it’s exactly how you like it.
  • Stir one last time, add plenty of ice, and enjoy
