In my recipes, you’ll notice I often recommend
Don Q. Established in Ponce in 1865, it is the best-selling rum in Puerto Rico. While other brands are famous worldwide, Don Q is what you’ll find in a true Puerto Rican home and at every
chinchorreo. Its clean, refined taste is what makes our Coquito and Piña Colada taste like the island.
Ingredients
:
- 2 cups Don Q Cristal (White Rum)
- 1 cup Don Q Gold (for a deeper flavor)
- 2 cups Pineapple Juice
- 2 cups Orange Juice
- 1 cup Passion Fruit Juice (Parcha)
- ½ cup Grenadine (for color and sweetness)
- ¼ cup Lime Juice (freshly squeezed)
- Fresh Fruit: Slices of orange, lime, and pineapple to garnish the bowl or pitcher.
Methods:
- The Big Mix: In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine all the fruit juices (pineapple, orange, parcha, and lime).
- Add the Spirit: Pour in the Don Q Cristal and Don Q Gold. Stir well to combine.
- Sweeten: Slowly add the grenadine and stir until the punch gets a beautiful tropical sunset color.
- Chill: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before the party.
- Tip: Don’t add ice to the pitcher! Add ice to the individual glasses so the punch doesn’t get watered down.
- Garnish: Add the fresh fruit slices directly into the punch bowl for a beautiful presentation.
- Serve: Pour into glasses filled with ice and enjoy!
