Did you know the Piña Colada was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico?

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Puerto Rican White Rum (Don Q or Bacardí)
  • 3 oz Pineapple Juice (fresh is always better!)
  • 1 oz Coconut Cream (Coco López is the classic choice)
  • ½ oz Heavy Cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 1 cup of Ice
  • Garnish: A fresh pineapple wedge and a maraschino cherry.

Method:

  1. Combine: In a blender, add the rum, pineapple juice, coconut cream, and heavy cream.
  2. Chill: Add the ice.
  3. Blend: Pulse until the mixture is smooth and has a frappe-like consistency.
  4. Pour: Serve in a tall «Poco Grande» glass or a hollowed-out pineapple if you’re feeling extra tropical!
  5. The Finishing Touch: Garnish with the pineapple wedge and the cherry. Don’t forget the little umbrella!
