CHEF COQUÍ’S TIMING

Coquito 🥥🥛

⏳ Prep: 15 mins | 🔥 Cook: 0 mins

❄️ Chill: 1+ hour (Best overnight!)

Coquito ( without alcohol) is one of my favorite drinks to enjoy from Puerto Rican Heritage Day (la Puertorriqueñidad, Thanksgiving through Christmas, New Year’s, and Three Kings Day (January 6th). It is a staple in every Puerto Rican home and holiday activity—an authentic tradition passed down from generation to generation.

A fun detail: almost everyone who tries Coquito says it’s better than eggnog. I’ve tried eggnog myself, and I can tell you, Coquito is way better! While the Original Coconut is the classic, you can also get creative with flavors like Ferrero Rocher, Nutella, Pistachio, or even Cake (which is a new version), but the original is the classic coquito.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of coconut milk
  • 1can of coconut cream
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 can of evaporated milk
  • 1 tbsp of vanilla extract
  • 1½ tbsp of ground cinnamon
  • 1 cinnamon stick

Method:

  • Classic Coquito: Combine all the base ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until the mixture reaches a perfectly smooth and creamy consistency.
  • Nutella Version: Add ½ cup of Nutella to the blender along with the base ingredients and mix until fully combined.
  • Ferrero Version: Add 7 to 10 Ferrero Rocher chocolates to the blender. You can crush them slightly beforehand or blend them whole with the other ingredients until smooth.
  • The Finishing Touch: For every version, place one cinnamon stick inside your bottle or jar before pouring in the Coquito mixture (which makes it so good).
  • Chilling: For the best flavor, refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight), and remember to shake well before serving.
  • Storage: Keep your Coquito in a sealed bottle in the refrigerator. It can stay fresh for several weeks

Which version are you trying first? Whether you’re Team Nutella or a Classic Coconut lover, I’d love to hear how it turned out! Leave a comment below and let’s celebrate the holidays together.
